Addiction Recovery Services
Addiction Recovery Services of UHCMC is an outpatient treatment program for adults with substance use disorders. At ARS, we view addiction as a brain disease affecting physical, psychosocial and spiritual functioning. We are committed to providing service excellence by utilizing a holistic treatment approach, tailored to meet individual patient needs. Our patient population is comprised of persons with a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency who are 18 years or older. Many of our patients also have co-existing mental health problems which can be addressed by our Addiction Psychiatrist and clinical staff of Counselors, Social Workers and Advanced Practice Nurses. The program integrates Evidence Based Treatment approaches with traditional principles of recovery, in order to assist patients and their families to begin the process of recovery.
At ARS, each individual patient’s needs are met by treating them in the least restrictive level of care that is appropriate. Many of our patients begin their treatment in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for a brief period of time, depending on their individual needs. We provide ambulatory detoxification and Suboxone therapy within this clinical setting. The Intensive Outpatient Level of care is offered in the evening, as well as the morning, in order to accommodate the schedules of the individual patient. In IOP, patients attend programming three times per week, for approximately six weeks. Education, group therapy and family programming are all vital components of the IOP level of care. IOP is generally followed by six weeks of Aftercare, when patients return for group therapy one time per week.
